Title: Menus hang with LessTif, KDE and Klipper

ID: 17055

Product: LispWorks for Linux
Version: 5.0
OS: Linux

Description: When using this version of LessTif (as shown in the LispWorks bug form):

Motif library version: 2001 "@(#)GNU/LessTif Version 2.1 Release 0.93.95b"

LispWorks often hangs after a right mouse button click in any editor-pane based tool. Sometimes the context menu appears for a second or so, but it disappears almost immediately, and only a rectangular grey region stays on the screen which does not disappear. LispWorks is dead at this point.

The problem seems to be in the interaction between the LispWorks context menu and the KDE application Klipper, probably caused by the functions that enable/disable the Cut/Copy/Paste options in the menu.

Workaround: We recommend using OpenMotif instead of Lesstif. This requires installation of OpenMotif 2.2 (not 2.3), but it is much more robust than LessTif.
Alternatively, simply disable Klipper.
