If on is
nil, generation 1 (the second generation) is never expanded. If it ist, generation 1 is always expanded. If it is 1, generation 1 is only expanded if its current size is less than 500000 bytes. This is the default setting.

The current size of the image, in bytes.
- Description
- Controls the subsequent behavior of the garbage collector, if insufficient space is freed by a
mark-and-sweep. Depending on this function, the generation may be expanded, or the objects in it may be promoted. - See also
