21.3 Configuring the display

The results of a search are displayed in the main area of the grep browser, and there are a number of ways that you can configure the way the information is printed so that it best suits your needs.

After performing a search, each line of the main area lists a successful match. The line contains the following information:

• The line number of the file in which the match was found (or ? if it is unknown).
• The name of the file in which the match was found.
• The text on the matching line.
