4.3 The Stepper

4.3.2 Stepper commands

When the Stepper is entered, it displays each form to be evaluated and then waits for you to enter a command at the prompt (->). You can enter Stepper commands in uppercase or lowercase letters.

The Stepper accepts the following commands:

:n            Evaluate current expression in step mode.
:s            Evaluate current expression without stepping.
:u            Evaluate current expression without stepping
                 and go up one level of stepping.
:x            Finish evaluation, but turn Stepper off.
:p            Print current expression.
:pp           Pretty-print current expression.
:b            Enter the Debugger.
:q            Exit to Top Level.
:h or ?       Print this text.
