The integrated cross-platform development tool for ANSI Common Lisp LispWorks logo

ERGO website

Consultant: Edi Weitz, Germany

The website of ERGO, a German company specializing in ergonomically designed furniture, was originally written in PHP using a PostgreSQL database. It was overhauled in summer 2005 and is now completely written in Common Lisp using LispWorks. The application sits behind the original domain, www.ergoweb.de, as well as behind several partner domains that use the same core while featuring different graphical layouts and products.

ERGO's application includes a custom database solution, content management systems for graphic designers and partners, and facilities to import product information from a FileMaker database.

Edi explains why he chose LispWorks: 'I use LispWorks because it's a full-featured Common Lisp implementation that enables me to write Linux servers as well as graphical Windows desktop applications. I appreciate LispWorks' highly knowledgeable support staff and their willingness to constantly improve and extend their product.'
