2.4 Installing Liquid Common Lisp

Once you have extracted the product files, you can run Liquid Common Lisp immediately. However, you may wish to configure the image; for more information, see Chapter 3. If you have moved (or copied) the executable lisp image to a new location from the directory you originally installed it in, see Section 3.1.1 for information on how to configure it in its new location. You should also load patches before using Liquid Common Lisp; see Section 3.1.2.

Note that you can copy or move the executable files from theconfig subdirectory to another location if you need to, however, you then need to take some manual steps in order to configure the image as it starts up from that location. See the options described in Section 3.1.1. Note that there is no need to be concerned about configuring an image that has already been through this step and been saved withdisksave somewhere.
