8.6 Configuring the display

8.6.1 Sorting items in lists

By default, items in the buffers, definitions and changed definitions views are sorted alphabetically according to their name.

Choose View > Unsorted if you do not wish to sort items in these lists. For views which list definitions, choosing this option lists definitions in the order in which they appear in the source code.

Choose View > Sort by Mode if you wish to sort each buffer according to its mode.

Choose View > Sort by Name if you wish to sort them according to their names once again. This is the default setting.

Choose View > Sort by Package if you wish to sort buffers according to the packages that applies.

Choose View > Sort by Size if you wish to sort buffers according to their size. The largest buffers are listed first.

Choose View > Sort by Type if you wish to sort them according to type of each item. This sorts different types of definition, or different types of buffer, as appropriate.
