15.1 Introduction

The Grep Browser gives you a convenient way of performing searches on directories or individual files in your filesystem. You can create a Grep Browser by choosing Tools >Grep Browser or clicking in the Podium. Note, however, that it is almost always preferable to invoke the Grep Browser by issuing commands in other tools, for example using Alt+X grep in an editor.

Out of necessity, this chapter makes some references to other tools in the environment which you may not yet be familiar with. However, this chapter does not assume any prior knowledge of these tools.
