12.7.6 Setting the default encodings

The Editor has defaults for the encodings used when reading and writing files. For most uses these defaults will suffice. If you need to change either, select the Editor File Encodings tab of the Editor Preferences dialog.

For example, to make the Editor write Carriage Return Linefeed line-terminated files by default, select CRLF in the Line Termination Options for Output.
